George Fox tribute honors service in armed forces "Freedom is Not Free: A Celebration of Liberty," a tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in Bauman Auditorium on the campus of George Fox University, 414 N. Meridian St., Newberg. Admission is free. The event is organized by Richard and Elizabeth Peters of Wilsonville. World War II veterans Don Malarkey, whose story was highlighted on the HBO series "Band of Brothers," and Kennie Namba, a Japanese American who was interned with his family in a relocation camp after Pearl Harbor and went on to serve with one of the most decorated units in U.S. history, are among those scheduled to speak. Musical entertainment includes the Sojourn Rock Orchestra, Dirty Dozen vocal ensemble, Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and a 100-plus voice community choir, including the Wilsonville High School Choir.
